    Esports to be given sports status in Pakistan

    Federal Minister for Science and Technology Fawad Chaudhary made the announcement via tweet stating that video game lovers to get ready for the new opportunities awaiting gamers.

    Fawad Chaudhary announced that Pakistan Sports Board and The Pakistan Science Foundation have signed a memorandum to accord e-games the status of a sport.

    "A memorandum has been signed between Pakistan Sports Board and The Pakistan Science Foundation after which E-Sports will get regular sports status, If you are interested in video games, get ready and new opportunities are waiting for you."

    Last year in November, the minister had revealed a special program of animation and video games.
    Many countries are taking esports as the competition is being featured in multi-sports events like the Asian Games. International Olympic Committee has also discussed esports in future Olympic events.
    The first country to recognize Esports as a real sport is China in 2003. Since then, Denmark, South Korea, Indonesia, and Germany recognized esports.
     Esports and gaming are not recognized a few years ago and then 'Arslan Ash' a Tekken player won the EVO championship Series Japan in 2010. This championship elevated Pakistan's name on the international stage.
    PUBG Mobile recently Organized the PUBG Mobile Pakistan Championship with a prize pool worth $62000, 1crore PKR. Team F4 won the championship and won 50 lakh PK Rupees.
